Who This Is For

Breaking In

Transitioning into Cloud

You're coming from IT support, sysadmin, networking, or a non-technical role and want a clear path into cloud engineering or cloud ops.

Cert Strategy

AWS Certification Planning

You're not sure which cert to take next, or you've been studying for the wrong one for your target role. Let's build the right sequence.

Role Targeting

TAM, SA, or SDE at Cloud Companies

You want to land at AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or a cloud-native company in a technical role but aren't sure how to position yourself.

AI Transition

Cloud/DevOps → AI Engineering

You have cloud skills and want to move toward AI/ML engineering, LLM integration, or AI platform roles without going back to school.

Level Up

Stuck at Mid-Level

You're a cloud or DevOps engineer who's been at the same level for a while and wants to understand what senior and staff roles actually require.

Freelance/Consulting

Building Cloud Consulting Income

You want to build a consulting practice or freelance cloud business alongside your full-time role — what's realistic, and how to start.

AWS Certifications — Which One Is Right for You?

I've passed 12+ AWS certs. Here's the honest summary — we'll build your specific sequence in the session.

Cloud Practitioner
Entry point. Vocabulary, not depth. Skip if you're already technical.
Solutions Architect Associate
The most valuable associate cert. Best first technical cert for most people.
Developer Associate
Right path if you're a developer targeting cloud-native app roles.
SysOps Associate
Operations focus. Good for DevOps/sysadmin backgrounds.
DevOps Engineer Pro
Highly respected. Harder exam, strong signal for senior roles.
SA Professional
The hardest and most respected. Target after 2+ years of cloud experience.
AI Practitioner
New. Good for AI/ML career pivot. Pairs well with SA Associate.
ML Specialty
For engineers targeting SageMaker and ML platform roles specifically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which AWS cert should I take first?
It depends on your background. New to cloud: Cloud Practitioner → Solutions Architect Associate. Already in IT: skip CCP and go straight to SAA. Developer background: Developer Associate. Targeting operations: SysOps Associate. We'll map the right sequence for your specific situation in the session.
How do I become an AWS TAM?
TAM roles at AWS typically require 5+ years of technical experience, cloud/infrastructure background, and strong customer-facing skills. The interview is behavioral-heavy (Amazon Leadership Principles) plus technical depth. You don't need to have been an engineer — some TAMs come from consulting, IT management, or support. I spent 6 years in the role and can walk you through exactly what it takes and whether it fits your background.
I'm a DevOps engineer. How do I move into AI roles?
Cloud and DevOps engineers are well-positioned: you already understand infrastructure, APIs, cost, and production systems. The shift to AI engineering is mostly about adding LLM integration, prompt engineering, and model deployment. AWS Bedrock and SageMaker are the practical on-ramps — we'll map a realistic path based on your current stack and target role.
Is this worth it if I've only been in cloud for a year?
Yes — early clarity saves years. Knowing the right cert sequence, the right roles to target, and what interviewers at cloud companies actually look for will save you from years of studying the wrong things. Early career coaching often has the highest ROI precisely because the time-to-impact is longest.
